- winged helix transcription factors
Family of transcription factors characterized by a conserved DNA-binding domain found in Drosophila homeotic gene forkhead and rat hepatocyte nuclear factor-3 (HNF-3 b ). At least 80 genes with this motif are known, many with developmentally-specific patterns of expression. FAST-1 is a member of this family.
